Hydro was fortunate to have worked for over 25 years with Dr. Elemer Makay, an independent consultant to the utility industry and a well-known authority on high energy pumps.
Dr. Makay's pioneering work, including his research on A and B gap modifications with which his name is closely associated, dramatically improved the performance and reliability of these critical pumps.
His passionate and uncompromising insistence on quality literally transformed the standards by which a quality pump repair is defined.
Hydro acquired the body of his research and engineering designs and dedicated a library at our HQ in Chicago to his memory. This research, combined with the many years of close cooperation between our companies, contributed to Hydro's becoming a leader in engineered improvements for pumps.
